Electronic Musik

Electronic Musik

A DIY label which specialises in experimental electronica and improvised music. Formed in 2000 it’s run by the Sound manipulator / Improvising musician Ian Simpson (aka Noise Research) and is non profit making which enables the label to release exactly what it wants (ie: what it likes). Ian is based in the U.K.

Artists include Longstone, Eddie Prevost, ASTRO, Fonik, Philippe Petit, Kipple, Korhan Erel, Wolf Eyes, Alex Charles, Matt Davies, Richard Wilmer, Matthew Shaw, Demons, Astral Social Club, Gary Fisher, A Band, Towering Breaker, Black Forest Orchestra, Chris Whitehead, Sndsukinspook, Chris Lynn, Lanterns, Vultures, Generic, Kalistongue, Pangea, Graham Dunning, Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt , Thee Moths, ARK, Mutate, Ambient Fabric, Isaac de la Concha, Heddy Boubaker, Gnod, Banist3r, Noise club, Viva la Muerte, Serfs, Spektrox, Barbarians, Phroq, Janx: The Gathering, Ian Watson, Electronic Orgainca Ensemble, Christian Munthe, Martin Ohman, Herve Perez, Cage Cabarrett, Afgan, John Kannenberg, Sannyasin, Bacillus, Noise Research, Vok, Daniel Weaver, Luis Antero, Arklight, Narshe, Lol Coxhill, Paul Burnell, Thee Alex, Anton Mobin + more.

Ian's improvising electronics project “LDT” was the original driving force behind this when he realised that the potential of the Internet was huge for musicians and artists such as himself who would attract no interest from commercial labels. Hence the catalogue is available only through the Internet or at live events.

Heddy Boubaker Born in 1963 in Marseille (France) a nice Sunday of March at siesta time, influenced by the Mediterranean sea and the Mistral wind, Heddy Boubaker has played music and experimented with sounds since 1977, starting with electric guitar in a mainly rock/punk even progressive style. He's now playing free improvised music with his alto & bass saxophones in an indescribable style, in which we are always able to hear the sea, the wind, electronics equipment, ... among many other...

ARK - Nathalie Huber & Coralie Lonfat Electro - acoustic composition for 2 pianos and laptop. ARK is articulated around Nathalie Huber and Coralie Lonfat’s compositions with 2 pianos and a laptop. Arrangements present rhythmic and harmonic superpositions, impromptu parts and the exploration of sound textures. The idea is to bring closer the jazz and pop harmonies to the eclecticism of modern music and to add electronic sound effects to acoustics. “Modules”, concept of short, radical...

EP from Pangea on the Electronic Musik label. Pangea works with harsh sounds giving it a floating and hypnotic sense. The collaborative nature of spanish composer Juan Antonio Nieto has taken him into different journeys. What happens when the continental drift process suffers inversion? The union of intangible terrains is becoming more clear each second. At this point, we know that language is truly unstable and absolutely turbulent. We would like to be in control and arrest this flux of events...

Banister has emerged in 1999 from the vacuum of normality armed with hard-nosed hybrid of techno, industrial, rock, experimental and electro. He have shaken the foundations of electronic music by tearing away at the very boundaries that define it, freely mixing genres and styles to create his own unique blend of Electronic. The year 2000 saw the release of his first demo entitled D/rugs, the follow up to the 2006 EP Rotor, in 2007 the album This is Not About Noise and the new 2009 Winter demo....

Cage Cabarrett (aka __________) explores notions of Indeterminacy in art. We are specifically interested in works that perform an unpredictable action through Aleatoricism, Indeterminacy and Intuitive Improvisation. We try to dissolve any fixed properties of music sound into a fluid process and break with the traditional control of the composer over the material. All sounds have equal value: sounds chosen by the composer, by the performer, and all the unforeseen and unpredictable sounds that...
